My name is Ernestina Martinez and my business is El Viejon Mexican Food. My relationship with Quelites is as the founder of Quelites. Veggielution was like the first support we had as fill-ups. We are from the first seasons of EASTSIDE Grown and my partners are also from the fourth season of EASTSIDE Grown.

HOW DID QUELITES START? WHAT WAS THE IDEA BEHIND QUELITES?
Quelites is a plant that represents our ancestors, our grandparents, it’s a plant that we grew up with as children and discovered that it was a nutritious plant. Many here have forgotten it, that many consider it as a curse, but it is a plant that nourishes us and has different benefits.

Quelites focuses on vegetarian and vegan food because we want something new for people, more than anything we want to connect the goshawks of our grandparents from each generation because we are from different homes and everyone cooks differently. I knew the plant cooked in different stews, capillados, and in tacos and quesadillas. They are for people who are interested in nourishing food in a vegetarian way and with handmade tortillas to give the Latin flavor.
