ISSUE 2020.Nahui

Published October 2020

In this fourth issue, we focus on education and distance learning under the current pandemic: stories about the challenges of distance learning, mental health, educational rights, and art as therapy. Through distance learning, parents are still adjusting to new roles as principals, teacher assistants, and IT support all at the same time. While the struggle has added additional stress to our households and communities, we also bear witness to how we manage to find joy through the challenges of our times.

Join us in this journey of impact, inspiration, and power alongside each other. We can’t do it without your support.

Eastside Magazine was created to capture the heart of East San José by highlighting the community’s deeply rooted history, cultural vibrancy, ample assets and considerable resources.

The magazine features the important work of organizations in East San José and stories of commitment and determination that contribute to the community’s growth and strength.

Through this magazine, we aim to emphasize a sense of pride, appreciation, and understanding of East San José as not just an important point of destination, but a home with a rich cultural legacy as the heart of San José.
